Spring beauty: What’s new and what you need

Spring is almost upon us, and with the change in the weather and lighter nights it’s also time to shake up your make up bag too. So, away with the dark lipsticks and heavy coverage foundation – it’s time to breathe new life and flavour into your beauty routine.

Here are some of the latest beauty releases that have caught my eye recently.

MAC Boom Boom Bloom Eyeshadow Palette

Featuring a mix of frost and matte shades, this palette, much like the rest of the Boom Boom range screams spring.

The shades are wearable, and offer a range of looks from daytime to something much more sultry. For pale skin, the lightest shade ‘Dust Off’ would also double up as an excellent highlight too.

Morphe X Jaclyn Hill The Eye Master Collection

If you’re thinking of updating your eye shadow collection, then you can’t be without the right tools for the job. After all, the greats such as Picasso and Renoir needed the right brushes for their masterpieces, and the same is absolutely true for eye shadow work too.

Morphe have released a new brush collection with Jaclyn Hill, which features 8 excellent brushes of all shapes, sizes and textures to give you exactly the right blend and smudge you so desire.

Marc Jacobs, Daisy Dream Eau De Toilette

Fresh into Selfridges this week was the re-launch of a popular fragrance classic – Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream.

Light and fresh, this is a perfect scent for Spring whereby the heavier fragrances make way for something a lot easier on the senses.

The entire Daisy range always proved extremely popular when I worked in fragrance, and spring is a good a time as any to delve into the World of Marc Jacobs if you are yet to do so.

NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Contour Concealer

Fresh off the back of the success of the ‘Can’t Stop Won’t Stop’ foundation range, NYX have now brought out a concealer range to match, with over 20 shades to choose from.

For those with pale skin, there are a good 5 shades that work from an off-white upwards, although you may need an additional darker shade to conceal around the eyes or for areas of redness.

All in all though, for a drugstore brand the range of shades at such an affordable price is truly groundbreaking.

Natasha Denona Mini Diamond & Glow

If you caught up on my recent Sephora Haul, then you’ll know it’s no secret I fell in love with Natasha Denona’s products whilst I was in America.

Unbeknown to me, Natasha’s products have already made it this side of the pond, and as well as her incredibly pigmented eyeshadows, she has just released this mini Diamond Glow & Highlighter.

This would be perfect for touch-up’s on the go, not to mention travel! It has a divine highlighter shade as well as a blush. For pale skin, I actually think the ‘highlighter’ would work really well as a subtle contour.

So that’s my recommendations for Spring! Let me know what new product launches you have your eye on, and how you like to change your makeup up as we head into warmer weather.
