When you think of a female celebrity, it’s easy to imagine a tanned, bleach blonde figure often with lip and bum fillers to boot. Not forgetting contouring and Instagram filters in equal heavy measure. But, the very definition of attractiveness is much broader than this stereotype, and we’re here to prove it.
If you still need some convincing in the age of the Kardashian, not to mention a little reassurance that your pale skin is indeed beautiful, then check out these following pale female celebrities for some inspiration.
In no particular order, these are 10 celebrities who rock their pale, porcelain skin.
French actress Eva Green exudes glamour, style and beauty in her own chic, unique sexy way.
Eva played Bond Girl ‘Vesper Lynd’ in Casino Royale. Infact, she was so seductive James nearly called his 007 life quits as he completely fell in love with Eva’s character. With those eyes, who could blame him?
Unfortunately Vesper perished in the movie (she still looked incredible as a dead floating body after drowning – how DOES she do that?!) – although thankfully Eva’s real life personal style and grace continues to live on.
American actress and star of Mad Men Christina Hendricks is a trailblazer for redheads everywhere.
Her personal style is interesting as for the most part it’s a throwback to more conservative eras, particularly on the red carpet. Yet Christina keeps things striking by typically adding a red lip, paired back against much softer makeup.
Whether she’s rocking a bob or longer hair, Christina always looks fantastic and effortlessly stylish.
Blonde isn’t just for tanned Barbie’s as Nicole Kidman perfectly demonstrates. Born in Hawaii but raised in Australia, Nicole has a mixed heritage of Irish, Scottish and English.
Now in her 50’s, Nicole hasn’t succumbed to the pressure of ‘having a tan to look younger’, in fact she continues to display her natural skin tone with pride whether it’s in her latest movie, on the red carpet or when out and about with husband Keith Urban.
Nicole’s style has evolved gracefully throughout the years, and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the table next.
Hollywood starlet Emma Stone is probably the biggest rebel of the bunch when it comes to her pale skin, if her recent appearance at Paris Fashion Week is anything to go by.
Emma is an interesting example because she’s young, doesn’t feel the need to go all out with plastic surgery and makes the most of her natural features. She’s even ditched the tan after previously having a much more bronzed look. Good on you Emma!
Emma has also rocked pretty much every hair colour with her natural pale skin and still looks great. She’s even modeled for Revlon, showing the beauty industry that pale skin, is indeed beautiful.
Dita Von Teese
For a taste of old Hollywood meets present day, look no further than Dita Von Teese.
Dita is a burlesque artist and entrepreneur, and even has her own lingerie line. Could you imagine the likes of Victoria Secret having a runway full of models with no tan? Dita shows us you don’t have to be super tanned or full of plastic to be confident showing off your skin. Because yes, pale is sexy too. She’s truly divine.
Editors Note: How I’ve managed to miss not one but TWO New Years Eve shows held by Dita whilst in the same city as her is frankly a travesty. Dita – Next year I’ll be front row!
One for all the pale girls with a pink undertone to their skin, Elle Fanning will have you wanting to turn your hair as blonde as hers, with a red lip just as dark too.
At just 20 years old, American actress Elle carries herself with a level of grace that is far beyond her years, as she has also demonstrated through her impressive IMBD resumé.
Elle’s flawless complexion glows brightly even without heavy layers of makeup. We need her skincare routine STAT.
Down to Earth Sophie Ellis-Bextor has never been ashamed to show off her beautiful pale skin.
From appearing in music videos to competing in Strictly Come Dancing – she’s always remained herself and allowed her personality to do the talking.
Now a mum of five, Sophie never fails to look effortlessly polished, even when her makeup – and tan – are completely stripped back. Sophie, we salute you!
Another young Hollywood starlet who is also shunning the tan is none other than Emma Roberts, niece of Julia Roberts.
Emma is frequently seen at various fashion shows including Dior, where she proudly displays her natural skin tone with an air of effortless cool.
Her makeup usually involves a pink lip, with the rest of the look paired back to include a soft blush and subtle powder contour. Her brows are brushed to perfection, and they avoid any heavy shaping as is so common in today’s Instagram generation. How refreshing!
Former 1/5th of pop band Girls Aloud, Nicola Roberts famously shunned the tan and stepped out completely pale, after years of fake tanning.
Nicola also created makeup range Dainty Doll, which was specifically aimed at girls with pale skin who struggled to find a foundation light enough for them.
We admire Nicola’s spirit, and hope she considers a return to the cosmetics industry as well as her work in highlighting the dangers of sunbeds.
Born in Brooklyn but raised in Ireland, Saoirse has gained recent notoriety with lead roles in films such as Ladybird and Mary Queen of Scots.
Saoirse’s style is pretty experimental and fashion forward, however whatever her look she’s never afraid to show off that pale Celtic skin.
We’re excited to see what’s next for Saoirse.
Hopefully these beautiful ladies have inspired you to embrace, not cover your pale skin.
Let us know what you think and if you have some other great examples to add to the list!
